TutorsNearMeSG is based around a simple directory model. We collect personal data only where it is needed to operate the platform, manage tutor adverts, send enquiries, process reviews, maintain accounts, and protect users.

Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act recognises the need to protect individuals' personal data while allowing organisations to collect, use, or disclose data for legitimate and reasonable purposes. We aim to handle personal data consistently with that approach.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Tutor advert details such as name, title, location, subjects, rate, bio, experience, and profile photo.
• Student enquiry details such as name, email, phone, location, subject, and message.
• Review details such as reviewer name, rating, subject, review text, and moderation status.
• Technical information such as device, browser, IP address, cookies, and usage logs.

3. How we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

• Create, manage, review, publish, hide, or remove tutor adverts.
• Allow students and parents to contact tutors through the website.
• Send account emails, password reset links, contact notifications, and service messages.
• Review and moderate tutor adverts, reviews, and enquiries.
• Operate, secure, debug, improve, and measure the platform.
• Respond to support, privacy, legal, or safety requests.

4. Public tutor profiles

Tutor adverts are designed to be public. Information you submit for a tutor advert may be shown on TutorsNearMeSG, including your name, subjects, area, rate, teaching experience, bio, lesson modes, profile photo, student outcomes, and reviews.

We do not publicly show a tutor's private email address or phone number as part of the standard contact flow. Students contact tutors through the enquiry form.

5. Disclosure of personal data

We may disclose personal data where reasonably needed to:

• Send student enquiries to tutors or an administrative inbox.
• Use service providers for hosting, database storage, file storage, email, analytics, security, and maintenance.
• Comply with laws, regulations, court orders, enforcement requests, or safety obligations.
• Investigate spam, abuse, fraud, security incidents, or misuse of the platform.

6. Cookies and analytics

We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, understand site usage, improve performance, and protect the website. You can adjust cookie settings through your browser, but some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

7. Security and retention
