1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using TutorsNearMeSG, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use the website or submit any information through it.

TutorsNearMeSG is an online directory and advertising platform for tuition-related services in Singapore. We are not a school, tuition centre, employer, agent, or party to any tutoring arrangement made between users.

2. Conditions of use

You agree that you will not:

• copy, reproduce, reformat, republish, sell, distribute, or commercially exploit any material from the website without permission;
• submit false, incomplete, misleading, offensive, abusive, defamatory, obscene, threatening, or unlawful content;
• use the website to harass, annoy, spam, mislead, or disrupt another person;
• contact tutors, students, parents, or users for the purpose of moving them to a competing directory or advertising service;
• scrape, data mine, crawl, harvest, automate searches, or extract tutor data, reviews, messages, or listings;
• interfere with the website, overload it with traffic, bypass security, or attempt unauthorised access;
• upload or transmit viruses, malware, harmful code, or any material that may damage the website or another user's device;
• use TutorsNearMeSG for any purpose that breaches Singapore law, school rules, academic policies, or these terms.

We may cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, platform providers, or hosting providers where required or appropriate in relation to unlawful or harmful use of the website.

3. Accounts and membership

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether authorised by you or not.

You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may refuse registration, suspend an account, restrict access, or remove an account where we consider it necessary to protect users or the platform.

4. Tutor adverts and profile content

Tutors are responsible for the information they submit, including their name, subjects, teaching experience, qualifications, areas, rates, lesson modes, student outcomes, availability, and any uploaded profile image.

Tutor adverts must be accurate, current, and not misleading. You must not claim qualifications, experience, results, reviews, or affiliations that you cannot reasonably support. We may review, edit, hide, reject, or remove adverts that appear inappropriate, low quality, inaccurate, duplicated, promotional in a misleading way, or in breach of these terms.

New tutor adverts may require admin approval before being shown publicly. After initial approval, subsequent edits may be published automatically, but we still reserve the right to moderate or remove them later.

5. Student enquiries

Students and parents may contact tutors through enquiry forms. You must use those forms for genuine tutoring enquiries only. You must not use them for spam, recruitment, scraping, advertising, harassment, or any unrelated commercial purpose.

Some enquiries may be sent directly to the tutor. Others may be routed to an administrative inbox where TutorsNearMeSG manages the advert. We do not guarantee that a tutor will respond, accept a student, or be available for lessons.

6. Fees and Featured listings

Tutors may pay for Featured listings or additional visibility. The applicable price, duration, features, renewal terms, and payment method will be shown on the website or communicated before purchase.

Fees are generally not refundable merely because a tutor changes their mind, receives fewer enquiries than expected, becomes unavailable, or no longer wishes to advertise. Refunds, credits, or extensions may be offered at our discretion or where required by applicable law.

Paid placement improves visibility but does not guarantee search position, enquiries, bookings, student outcomes, income, or any particular commercial result.

7. Reviews and moderation

Reviews should be genuine, fair, and based on an actual tutoring experience. We may manually review, approve, reject, edit for formatting, hide, or remove reviews to prevent fake feedback, abuse, personal attacks, offensive content, privacy issues, or platform misuse.

Reviews reflect the views of the reviewer. They are not endorsements, guarantees, or verified factual statements by TutorsNearMeSG.

8. Academic honesty

TutorsNearMeSG is intended to support learning, revision, understanding, and exam preparation. You must not use the website to request, offer, arrange, or assist with cheating or academic misconduct.

This includes completing assignments, essays, projects, quizzes, tests, examinations, or coursework on behalf of another person, or helping someone submit work in breach of a school, polytechnic, university, workplace, or examination policy.

9. Intellectual property

The TutorsNearMeSG name, website design, text, layout, software, source code, database structure, directory format, and other site materials are owned by or licensed to TutorsNearMeSG, except where content is submitted by users or otherwise stated.

You may view the website for personal tutoring-related purposes, but you must not copy or reuse substantial parts of the website, tutor profiles, reviews, listings, data, or source code to build, improve, or operate another product, directory, marketplace, or service.

10. No guarantee of information or outcomes

We try to keep the directory useful and up to date, but we do not guarantee that tutor profiles, rates, availability, subjects, reviews, qualifications, claimed results, or other information are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your needs.

Users should make their own checks before entering a tutoring arrangement, including checking identity, suitability, qualifications, experience, rates, lesson location, cancellation terms, safety, and payment arrangements.

11. Tutor and student arrangements

TutorsNearMeSG is not involved in the actual lessons, payments, cancellations, refunds, disputes, or agreements between tutors, students, and parents. We do not control the quality, safety, legality, truthfulness, or completion of any tutoring arrangement.

Any agreement between a tutor and a student or parent is made directly between those parties. Each party is responsible for deciding whether the arrangement is appropriate and for resolving any issues that arise from it.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. TutorsNearMeSG is not liable for loss, damage, claims, missed lessons, payment disputes, misconduct, inaccurate listings, technical interruptions, lost data, loss of opportunity, or any issue arising from use of the website or from arrangements made between users.

13. Disputes between users

If you have a dispute with another user, tutor, student, or parent, you agree that the dispute is between you and that other party. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release TutorsNearMeSG from claims, demands, losses, and damages arising from or connected with that dispute.

14. Linked websites and third-party services

The website may link to third-party websites or use third-party services for hosting, payments, email, analytics, authentication, storage, or other functions. We are not responsible for the content, policies, availability, security, or actions of third-party websites or services.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page. Your continued use of TutorsNearMeSG after the updated terms are posted means you accept the updated terms.

16. Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed to the extent required, and the remaining terms will continue to apply.
