A-Level General Paper Tutor | Essays, AQ and Current Affairs in Kallang
General Paper rewards students who can think clearly, not students who memorise the most examples. I'm Daryl, a former Hwa Chong student and current Law undergraduate at SMU. I tutor GP essays, comprehension, Application Question and current affairs analysis. My lessons help students move from broad opinions to precise arguments supported by relevant examples. I also train students to read questions carefully, define terms and avoid writing rehearsed essays that do not answer the prompt. I teach online and around Kallang, Geylang and the city fringe. Lessons can be one-to-one or small group for students who want discussion practice.

I scored A for H2 General Paper and received a school Humanities scholarship in JC. I have tutored JC students for 3 years, including students who were stuck at D/E grades because their essays lacked structure and evaluation. My lessons include essay planning, paragraph drills, example banks, AQ practice and timed writing. I give detailed comments on students' paragraphs and show how to sharpen claims without making writing sound artificial. For students aiming for higher grades, I focus on nuance, counter-arguments and current affairs examples from Singapore policy, technology, education, inequality and international relations.
