Concept-First Maths, Biology and Chemistry Tuition in Bukit Timah
The problem-solving skills developed through Mathematics and Science stay with students long after examinations are over. Hi! I'm Michelle, and I'm currently taking a gap year before university while continuing to tutor Primary and Secondary students in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. Unlike many tutors, I wasn't always at the top of my class. There was a point where I struggled to keep up with schoolwork and often questioned whether I was simply "not good" at certain subjects. Everything changed when I learnt how to study effectively, identify my weak areas and approach questions more strategically. That experience completely changed my perspective on learning, and it's the same approach I now share with my students. Because I've experienced both sides of the journey, I'm patient with students who lack confidence and understand that improvement isn't always immediate. My lessons focus on building small wins every week so students gradually become more independent and confident learners. My lessons typically include • Breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps ✅ • Topic-by-topic revision plans ✅ • Exam-style questions with guided solutions ✅ • Weekly recap sheets ✅ • Study techniques that students can continue using independently ✅ Whether a student is preparing for an upcoming WA, End-of-Year examination or simply wants to feel less overwhelmed in class, lessons are always adapted to what will benefit them most.

Since graduating from junior college, I've worked with Primary and Secondary students through both private tuition and small-group enrichment classes, supporting learners with a wide range of abilities. One thing I enjoy most is watching students become less reliant on me over time. Rather than giving answers immediately, I encourage them to explain their thinking, identify mistakes and develop confidence solving unfamiliar questions independently. Parents also receive regular updates on their child's progress, so they know which topics have improved and what we're working towards next.
