Lower Secondary and O-Level Combined Science Tutor for North-West Students
Science can feel like three subjects at once, so students need a way to organise concepts before memorising details. I'm Wei Jian, a Nan Hua High alumnus and NTU Biological Sciences graduate who tutors Lower Secondary Science, O-Level Combined Science, Biology and Chemistry for students around the North-West. I work well with students who say Science feels messy: they may remember facts from class, but struggle to connect keywords, diagrams, experiments and data-based questions into a complete answer. In lessons, I break chapters into clear concept maps, then train students to explain processes step by step using the phrasing expected in school tests and national examination questions. I teach online and around Choa Chu Kang, Yew Tee and Lim Chu Kang when schedules allow.

I have 5 years of experience tutoring Secondary students, with a focus on lower-Secondary Science and O-Level Combined Science. I scored A1 for O-Level Pure Biology and Chemistry before completing a degree in Biological Sciences, and I use that background to make topics such as cells, ecology, chemical bonding, acids and bases, rates of reaction and inheritance feel less fragmented. My lessons use concept maps, simple diagrams, short quizzes and past-paper questions, but the key emphasis is answering technique: many students understand the idea yet lose marks because their answer misses a relationship, keyword or comparison. For weaker students, I rebuild topics from foundational ideas before moving into examination questions. For stronger students, I focus on precision, data-based questions and unfamiliar contexts that test whether they can apply rather than recite.
